Thanks Dick, I checked the definition before entering and it says "a set of clothes in a style typical of a particular country or historical period" so I figured this still was okay. :)

A gorgeous photojournalistic piece and yes it is appropriate for this contest as I just looked up the definition for 'costumes'.

Love the story the exotic from another world, another time.

The shot is quickly taken, but is very nice with good solid technical expertise shown in contrast and natural colours, it is a pure photograph. Sharp and easy to see and easy to get absorbed into the image.

Nicely formatted as well. A strong entry.

Thanks Olga, had also checked definition and thought it okay. Yes had to snap quickly as very crowded and managed to get without other tourists. :)

Very nice and colorful photo of these pretty Geisha ladies. I love their Kimonos. I read a book years ago about the life of a Geisha, how they are trained, their duties, and the life they lead.
