A beautiful picture of the Grey Heron perched on the semi submerged branches at the pond's edge searching for fish in the shallows. Beautiful lit by the afternoon sunlight. The water in the background coloured by reflections of the dark blue sky above. Beautiful composition framing & lighting with superb camera techniques with sharp focus.

I love it when humor is added to a post. Better luck next time, little fellow. Herons are beautiful creatures (would like to know which kind this is). Details, colors, and composition are all good. Maybe it's just the angle, but I didn't figure out at first that he was going for fish. Herons will sometimes eat bugs and it seemed he was looking at a branch...

A nice shot. I like the anticipation of the heron that is evident in his pose. The composition is very good. The colors are a bit bright and contrasty which is a function of the bright light.

Thanks for the correction. They look just like our blue heron here in Arizona so I figured they were called blue everywhere. Ha. I learn something new everyday. Now my problem is retaining the info. Haha. Thanks again and have a FUNtastic day.
