This is a really beautiful landscape. I love how you can see the deep shadows within the rock formations because of the light that is shining down so brightly. Your focus and framing are perfect as well ;) Thanks for sharing :)

Wow, Fred, what an interesting photo and artist notes. This looks so much like some areas in the New Mexico and Arizona areas, but it seems the French got a jump on creating the pigments for paint. We get more turquoise from these areas than pigment. Lovely photo that I would never have guessed was in France. I love learning new things. Have a great week. I've been gone and am leaving again but I shall return :)))

Excellent informative post and image that shows how nature is able to take over after a long time of devastation - excellent view point showing the different materials in color range and structure - this would make a good model for the art of Sesha
great landscape picture - clear and sharp, contrast and lighting spot on, color saturation excellent - a well defined and well framed image, well done

Fred,
the colour of the ochre is beautiful & warm it seems to glow in the sunlight & contrasts beautifully with the green of the Conifers growing around it.
Artistic composition, framing & lighting with superb camera techniques with sharp focus.

A nicely framed shot of this ochre pit. I like the perspective that emphasized the remoteness of the area. The colors are excellent and the geologic details are very good.

Wow the colours are simply outstanding the greens and the ochre colours really compliment each other I like the way you have framed it making the crater centre stage .....I wonder if its a man made crater or its has just been eroded with time and weather....great photograph thanks for sharing
