This is very nice Doc.
Your focus is pin sharp and the close tight crop gives a superb view with excellent crisp details down to the fuzzies.
I think you did a fine job lighting these red "fingers" up.
But like we discussed highlights/ lighting privately, I would like to have controlled some spots on the right side. This is of course my technical side speaking.
That said...
I think this is Superbulous as it is now.
I know the challenges of shooting at night and I am impressed with how you do it all alone with light in one hand and camera in the other.
Really nice work Doc!

aha- another on my top ten list. Just took some more of this flower today. It grows up and over my arch right out front. Honeysuckle- as it's commonly called. Smells wonderful. Sometimes, btw, I have to hold the flashlight between my knees just so I can adjust camera settings. lol...the things we do for a good photo. So pleased you like these three. You picked some of my favorites. Thank you so much for checking these guys out.
Doc.

A very nice macro of the honeysuckle flower. Around here in East Tennessee it grows everywhere especially in the chain linked fences near woods. It is beautiful, smells wonderful, and is a pain in the neck to keep under control. I still like the plant when it is under control. The humming birds love it. Very well done Deborah.

It grows up and over a lovely wooden trellis I have right out front Steve. In the summer, w/ the windows open, I can smell it throughout my house.....yummy!! I have read that it can be invasive. Here, in VT though (at least in MY gardens) it plays very well...even shares w/ the CLEMATIS vines. Thank you so much for viewing and commenting Steve. I do appreciate your time...and thoughts.

A very nice shot with great colors and fine composition. I like your lighting that provides such fine detail and a dark background. Very good depth of field to keep such sharp focus throughout.

Thank you so much mm. I take this as high praise from you. It's another '...flashlight in the evening' shot (dark background) No tripod but I did rest my camera against the wooden arch.

Thank you so much GG. It's one of my '...in the EVENING' photos where I use a flashlight to photograph my flowers after dark.

A cyber six to you on this one Deb! I love the colors with the yellows coming into play. Your light and shadows with your trusty 'fantastic flashlight' has created perfection. Just enough green and excellent detail and clarity. Beautiful!! Do you wear your flashlight on your head? Maybe you should market that!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review Becky.....and the cyber six!!! Greatly appreciate your time AND the marvelous rating. and...lol...I do sometimes wear a flashlight on my head but that is mostly so I can see where I am.....I have surrounded all my flower beds w/ rocks...and there are a LOT of flower beds. I have saved my camera on more than one occasion when I've tripped and fallen. The flashlight light I shine on flowers is hand held (have experimented w/ countless kinds too) Holding it my hand allows me to not shine it directly on (but behind, next too etc) the flower I'm trying to photograph. ....lol...I've gone as far as holding an extra one between my knees (do NOT do that very often) If only I could get Finnegan to hold one in her teeth as well....ahahahah

I have worn the kids head lights outside before as well. LOL They are perfect when you need to have your hands free! You need someone taking of picture of your taking your flashlight pictures! :D You are a very creative photographer!! And you are welcome!

...lol...oh wouldn't THAT be a sight Becky!

I'm pretty sure my husband has a pic somewhere of me cooking outside on the grill with it on my head. I use the grill all winter if I can get it hot enough. I'm not kidding!

You're in Illinois? right? Are you getting this brutal cold now too?? It's going to be scary cold here next couple of nights....only time I wish I had something other than just wood heat.

Love plants and flowers. The blooms have an interesting look. Good color though. The red and green go well. Not sure about the blackness. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you swimmer for viewing and commenting. The 'blackness' is the night. I go out in the flower beds at night, w/ my dog and a flashlight.

A nice sharp colourful image, with the main subject isolated from the background (achieved by the use use of flash).
However, there are some very slight burnouts, due to the use of flash
If you can't adjust the flashlight itself, it might be worth experimenting with something like tissue or greaseproof paper or thin gauze, put in front of the flash, to make it less harsh. Just a thought

....and a very good thought mudge! Thank you....I often struggle w/ wanting to photograph my flowers after dark and the problems using a flashlight to do that causes. I will definitely try your idea.....when the flowers come back.
