I will begin by saying that I love the green hues of the background. Wonderful backdrop for the brilliant colors of the flower itself. The title is perfect for the scene. Just excellent work.

Purple and green...almost nothing better Linda, right?? Those background colors are more of my gardens....afraid it's going to be awhile though before I see ANYTHING but snow....lol Do appreciate you checking this one out. Thanks so very much.

Beautiful view of this bud so close to blooming flowers. I really like the angle and seeing the inside peeking through the seams :) The background is also very attractive.

what a wonderful flower, like the colors and details and textures you have here and the green background helps these stand out, I seen these in flower beds on my journey to the park but didn't know what they were, a pleasure to look at. Thank you for sharing. dale

This particular variety Dale is almost as big as a basketball when fully opened! 'Gigantum' is it's name. So...lol...now when you pass them on the way to the park you will know what they are! Really do appreciate you checking out this one as well. Thanks so very much.

This is quite an amazing capture. It almost looks as if the flower is encased in an onion skin or a net. I love the title you gave it and the colors are magnificent. Can't wait to see it unfold magically.

You're exactly right Mama M. The skin covering this ALLIUM bud is the same texture as the skin of an Onion. Pretty cool huh?? Really do appreciate you checking out this post as well. Thank you so very much.

The vibrant colors here speak for themselves, and the title of the photo helps give the impression upon the viewer more strongly. The background's blurring helps bring out the vivid color even further. Never seen anything like this before, usually I see an open flower. It's cool you were able to find something like this.

Well hello there Jayden. Hadn't heard from you in awhile and it's nice to 'see' you again. You're right...each bud IS the beginning of a new life. Very perceptive of you. Did you get your camera at Christmas? I know you were hoping... At any rate...do appreciate you checking out this post. Thank you so much.

Love the purple and green contrast; the color purple really stands out well; nice focus on the bud; looks like it's going to bust a move pretty soon; really interesting to see something like this up close; I guess it's ready for its buddies to bloom as well. Nice job.

Purple and green...one of the best combos ever swimmer!! Afraid it's still MONTHS to go before I'll see these guys for real.....thank goodness I have my photographs for the lonnnnngggg winter. I always like seeing your name at the end of a review of one of my posts swimmer. You are most generous and I do appreciate that. Thank you again.

Really is pushing the boundaries to attract bees and other pollinators. Good focus on where it matters showing detail of how tightly bunched flower heads are.Nice contrast with green background. I am so glad I have no fear of this family as I could never pronounce the meaning.

LOL...isn't that crazy Dave that there are enough people afraid of onions and garlic that it warrants it's own name!! It's actually easier to pronounce than you'd think... a-lee-um-phobia (phonetically speaking) I do appreciate you having a look at my post and putting a big smile on my face this morning. Thank you so very much.

You are reminding us that Spring is around the corner. Yesterday, it 60 her and set a new record. Tomorrow it will be 32. Oh well! Your tight shot of the business end of the allium is well captured. The bursting head is ready to spread it contents create the famous purple spherical globe. The sharp green background helps pop the star of the shot.
