What a great action shot! I am always impressed watching people throw large nets. I use a 5 foot one and struggle with it opening. You can see the energy the man is using in launching the net.

Nice action shot posted here. Your classic composition certainly tells the story and those sea tones are beautiful! I am just wondering why does he have to kneel to cast his net in?

thanks a lot; as you can see, the net dozsn't land far away: the lower his position, the lower the risk to frighten the fish

Very cool action shot. I like the limited color palate of blue. Excellent clarity and lighting. Good positioning of the person to the right of the frame with plenty of negative space for his net. Great visual impact as well. Nice job. ~Alveria

You must be a photographing genius SG. How were you able to catch this amazing shot at exactly the right moment??

How the fisherman are able to toss their nets like that is amazing to begin w/ but for you to capture it....well....good show on both your parts I'd say.

Framed it perfectly....it's crisp and clear. Good Job!!

no SG...you need to 'push' the shutter at exactly the right moment!
reply by PeglegDeb on 27-Feb-2016
    just as you did here!
reply by the author on 27-Feb-2016
ok: I was joking: you just need to use your special setting on the camera, taking 5-8 pics per second and choose the best one

aha...I always forget about that setting SG! Thanks for reminding me.

well caught moment fred, this makes for a good travel shot, what I mean by that is normanally people take views, people when they go away, but there is always room for other type of photos, this is a good example of capturing local life, well done for this...brian

These are always wonderful picture's with this soft turquoise water - a dream of clean and clear waters and a fisher man using the traditional method -
fantastic perspective -half bird view position that shows so well the large fisher net in relation to its owner

excellent cropping , perfect distance, a great "work" picture, genuine in color range, excellent focus, soft contrast and perfect day light shot

hope he got some fish out loll, thanks for sharing

A superb shot with great timing and very fine details. It is remarkable that the fisherman can cast their nets like this and even more remarkable that you could get the image of it.
