This truly is a unique piece of art. I love the way you made this look dreary with the storm clouds in the distance. I like the form of Christ on his knees trying to gain his strength, all covered in blood and wounds. This is an amazing piece of art. Thanks so much for sharing and especially at Easter time.

Thank you David for reviewing this piece. This is part of a seris that I have been working on for the last couple of years. This one finished the series. I did a video and did have it posted on my profile page but got a complaint so I removed it. If you care to take a look it is on U_Tube The video is titled Amazing love. I don't remember ever seeing any easter bunnies in any of the Easter stories in the bible so I wanted to allow all of us to reflect on what this holiday is about and what Christ did for us.
thanks again for the rivew

Nice story telling, good composition, nice tonal range and background mood to highten the story. Nicely crafted. Clothes appear to be a bit strange

When Christ was crucified he had on a loin cloth, however while he was carrying the cross he had on his robe which the soldiers gambled for according to scripture. I wanted to show more of the abuse he took for us so I decided to just go with the loin cloth, and I attempted to make it appear muddy, maybe that's why it loos so strange, couldn't quite get the appearance I was going for. I appreciate the 4 1/2 star rating even with this flaw > I can't thank you enough

I'm a Christian so this speaks volumes but just judging the art it's still a wonderful piece. Amazing depth and detail in the clouds. Very real representation of what the cross may have looked like and great human emotion and suffering poured out.

Thank you deeply for your wonderful review. I did a series from Christ in prayer at the garden, then on the cross, then one title
He Lives' where he comes out of the tomb. All of them have been posted over the years on here so I added this one to the series this year. I donated each painting to my son's Church to put I their prayer room for Easter. We all think of Easter egg hunts, new Sunday Easter clothes, and that Easter basket for the kids, I wanted to show the real reason for Good Friday to Easter Sunday. I'm glad you let me know that I did come across with what I was hoping for, the suffering he took for us.
Thank you again

Thank you Galia , most of this is done with a 3d program but the added effects of the blood and torn skin were from twisted Brush,. Thank you again for the review

Startling portrayal. The crown of thorns, the stripes are indeed poignant and remind one of the agony that Jesus suffered. An interesting approach, you incorporated the symbolic Crucifiction with a modern approach, gives one pause to appreciate your interpretation.

Thank you joyous one, Your interpretation of this painting was exactly what I wanted to portray. I wanted the focus to be on his suffering, the townspeople around him. After all , He went through all of this for all of us, from that time, to today and in the future for all, too bad too may people don't understand that.
Thank you again lynnkah

I have again reflected upon your wonderful interpretation of the terrible suffering of Jesus Christ. It is a photo that I will always remember. Thank you .

Here is the six star rating that this one truly deserves.
You made this so real that I can almost "feel" His pain, as one should. I have to say that this is one of your BEST
paintings~

Majestic! Skies are just lovely representing the storm coming with its dark blues, alizarin crimson colors. Cross beautiful with colors and body extremely well detailed with the thorns on top of bloody hair. The ground has magnificent colors. Shadows are in perfect places and very well centered. This is an eye viewer to remember HOLY WEEK!
Thanks for showing, Congratulations and good luck.

Thank you Barb. Last year I painted Christ on the cross for Easter and the the one He Lives, as Christ comes out of the tomb. I wanted to continue with that theme for Easter instead of the easter bunny or eggs, we know that's not what this season is about. This may be hard for some to look at with his suffering, but he did it all for us. thanks again Barb. I don't expect to get many reviews on this one, seems anything spiritual a lot of people find offensive, isn't that such a shame.

Very moving excruciating and spiritually feel for suffrage your image emits. Color, detail in wounds and most of all human form dying in symbolism of the cross carried. Thank You for sharing and very well done.

Thank you Bunkie. I had a different idea that I wanted to go with but no matter how I tried it , it just didn't work so I'm glad this one did. I have a series of Christ crucifixion that I was going to put into a college and post it together . I have the other paintings already posted from last year, just wanted to add them all together .
Thanks again
