I have seen similar row covers used to protect against frost. They also offer protection agains insects early in the season. A very nice shot that shows the lengths you sometimes have to go to when you cultivate such fine fruit.

Wow. I guess they could probably get wiped out in a moment by a huge flock of birds. Can you imagine how long it took to do all the covering? How much more time to remove? I have never seen that, either. We cover on a frost warning, but nothing like that. Well captured. Great focus and DOF. Wonderful clarity and detail. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Paul, yes amazing what damage they do the tops of all the trees near where we were staying were stripped of leaves and at night (didn't have camera with me) you couldn't see the trees as they were covered by the white Corellas.

Thanks for sharing this. I have never seen the nets for grapevines or have never heard of that kind of bird. It adds even more appreciation for the ones who tend to the vines! I like the distance you chose to express the scene of this major unertaking.
