this photo is gorgeous, from flower to butterfly. the depth of field is just enough to capture the main subject and pop it out. the green blurred in the background adds just enough contrast to the depth of field to make it all come together for a perfect shot.

Very nice nature shot posted here! I like your composition with the butterfly just off-centre. Your image is sharp, well exposed and has good, natural colours. Well done!

The colors are just sensational and the butterfly looks like nothing I have ever seen in the U.S. Fine composition and cropping. The entire image looks a tiny bit unfocused to me, but perhaps the bright sun is the cause. This photo taken under an overcast sky would show the colors more evenly.

Thank you very much for your kind review and comments - this was taken in Spain at a Butterfly Park (indoors) and though I had no control over the location, I agree with your observation.

This is absolutely gorgeous!!! :) Great job on the capture of this butterfly but on that beautiful flower as well. Great focus, clarity and the colors are awesome. Can't wait until our flowers bloom. Yesterday it was 26 degrees here. :( Thank you for sharing.

A very nice shot of the butterfly on a beautiful hibiscus. I have seen this species before but only in captivity. Since butterfly exhibits in this country are prevented from mixing butterflies from different geographic locations, they all seem to specialize in mezo-american species and I would therefore presume that this is from Central America. A very nice shot with great detail in the wings and body of the butterfly and beautiful colors.

I have tried to shoot these fast moving "beasts" oh my oh my.

You have done a fantastic job, razor sharp, and look at the colour coordination, in hues of pink...pink Hibiscus, pink swallowtail wings.....gorgeous.

This is a well composed, sharp, well saturated image that holds us spellbound.

Some reviewers may tell you to crop at left....I don't agree, for that is part of the environment where he dwells and visits.

Very very nice.

Thank you so much for your kind review and comments - very much appreciated. You are right, some people want to turn every image into a portrait whereas I prefer to shoot subjects in their natural environment. Thank you for that. Mike
