I think you did a fine job on Sir Aslan here Shadow. His eyes are bright and clear and you have nice focus and fur/whisker details.
I do see some of the X in the chain link fence on the left.
This tells me you needed to take one step back in order to make the fence totally disappear with no visible shadow left behind.
I know the challenge we had due to the people and not being allowed to stay behind on the tour. Next year we go while school is in session, no kids!
Nice full frame capture of King Aslan.
;)

Great job! Focusing while zooming is excellent. Details of this huge buddy are clear and enjoyable. The blurred out bar by zooming is still noticeable at the left side.

WOW what a hyper portrait picture - he really looks like smiling - the fact that his ears are turned back and covered by his hair create a special face expression
super focus, hyper sharp again, fantastic frame - the details of his fur are outstanding, seems he was prepared just for you to take a picture
contrast, lighting and color saturation are excellent - a lions face I never saw in this kind of composition, well done, thanks for sharing

a fantastic lion portrait Eileen; I like the partial framing of the head filling the frame; fantastic sharp details in his fur with its golden colors; and yes, the smile!

A very nice shot with great colors. The eyes are well shown but that smile looks almost like a caricature of the "lion king". The entire face is in very good focus. I think he has more of a sly look than a regal one.

When members on this site get their panties in a knot over me telling them their images are soft they ought to have a look at this post Eileen. Sharp as a whisker, so sharp we can see every hair of his fur! Excellent.
I'm sure the membership would love to know how you managed to eliminate those caged bars through dof, good to know it is do-able. There may be a tell tale sign on the L of the print in the fur....that dark gray shadow.
I like the fill the frame and the no nonsense image in natural lighting and colour saturation.
