A Still Life

I am trying to figure out why I smiled at this post. It is solid and pleasant but I think I smiled at it because it reminded me of my home, the things I have around my house....a yellow pepper (so expensive in Thailand), good gracious, unrelated to the kettle which at home is always used, and a little gewgaw that you find precious and we all have one of those around , a rock and yes, we pick up a nice rock on the beach and make it our own and it brings back memories of that day and thread...thread in teal colour and I can hear my husband asking me "don't you have any black thread?".

I have just now analyzed why I like your photo....it is because it symbolizes life.

Photographically it is perfectly shot and I won't go into the exposure, sharpness, saturation.

It is well balanced....and the background and negative space really support it nicely.

Thank you for turning me into an armchair philosopher this morning....and for entering my contest.

Thank you very much. I'm sure we all accumulate "stuff" and are surprised at how much it means when we really look at it. Thanks again.

A very nice composition. And while none of these things is directly related to another, they seem right together somehow.

Thank you very much. That is what I tried to achieve. So, thanks!

Aptly captured for the contest theme...
Unique grouping with no common denominator.
No pattern in letter selection.
Plain backdrop that even pops out the monochromatic owl.
Creative concept. Innovative approach. Imaginative presentation. Impressive entry. Potential voters choice... Best of luck in the contest! Thanks for sharing...
