Timer (no tri pod).....and OMG it took a few tries. I set the camera on a big rock....pushed the timer and had to scoot back to sit next to Finnegan...lol Think I got this one after 3 or 4 tries....so not too bad. It was the first time I'd used the timer on my camera.....not as easy as a 'selfie' w/ a phone. You are just a doll for going back to this one. Seriously. Thank you....and I like YOU doll....will be there for you all the time. Promise.

A heartwrenching pic...but so beautiful..in every way. The colors and the light and shadows and white balance are all stunningly real. I hope that you are gaining strength as you look ahead to your beautiful flowers and being outdoors..all the while missing Finn. She wants you to heal in every way...and she will always be shadowing you. Looking forward to some of your new spring flower pics...and of course your botanical knowledge notes!! Sincerely, Becky

Thank you again Becky for writing such a heartfelt review. I appreciate it so much. Each day gets easier and I get a bit stronger. One-two punch really took me for a loop. I am also looking forward to being back to taking and posting spring flower photos. Thank you again Becky.....oh, and for the extra star too. You are very kind.

You are most welcome...and keep up the improvement...out in your gardens!! You never did tell me if your prosthesis was corrected successfully.....?
reply by the author on 12-May-2016
the prosthesis was a nightmare. Believe it or not the first week and 1/2 I was in the hospital I was too sick to even think of wearing it and the first few days I felt well enough to try it my leg was so swollen it wouldn't go on. I am finally wearing it again but walking gingerly....only inside. Once I feel a bit stronger I will get my leg guy to come out here and do a fitting. Really was one awful month Becky. Honestly, I feel blessed to be alive.

Sorry about your loss and your illness. Get well. Dogs become a part of the family and they work their way into one's heart. Nice photo for the family album and memories of a good freind. Well done

You did a fine job with the timer Deb. I am impressed with white balance control on the white snow and your red and black outfit.
I know how hard these last two months have been for you and how much longer you have to go to recover.
The loss of fin only made it all worse and for that i am deeply sorry for your loss.
I am far away but will hold your hand through this through prayer and emails.
You made it this far cause you are one tough lady.
I love the blue sky peaking through the trees.
A fine shot of you and your best bud.
=)

Oh that timer was a bitch that day Sange....lol....and Finnegan was so patient- sitting there while I scooted back and forth trying to get the timing right AND get us both centered AND get camera settings set....lol....must have taken a good 45 mins to an hr. to get this photo right. It was a beautiful day out and I'm glad I have this photo as a memento. Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate them greatly.

So sorry to hear about Finnegan; hope you feel better and moving around asap. Always loved your pics; just take your time and just do what you can; would love to see more photos but only when you are up to it. Again, take care.

awwww...thank you so very much swimmer for your kind words....and, of course, for the extra star. But mostly I appreciate your kind words. I feel the slightest bit stronger each day and hope it won't be much longer before I am photographing, posting and checking out other's work as well. Again swimmer, I do appreciate your kind words.

Finnegan is the most beautiful lady - I am very sorry to hear that she is no longer with you. Dogs are such loving and wonderful companions and we of course miss them dearly when they are gone. The image is perfectly exposed with fine light and color. Great detail as well - a grand memory you will keep forever. Thanks for sharing, hope all is well now or at least getting there with you!

Deb, I was wondering what was going on with you as I haven't run across your flowers and it is flower season and they are all calling out to you I know.

Heal quickly, it sounds like you have had the wind knocked out of your sails.

I have always liked this photo you have on your profile page....because, it could very well be a photo of me!

Yes, Olga. Wind was knocked out of my sails in a very big way. I miss my Finnegan but am concentrating on getting a bit stronger each day. I so look forward to the day I am back to just taking photos of my flowers and posting.....soon I hope. Glad you like this photo. It is absolutely one of my very favorites.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Also you were really sick. I been in the hospital for a week. That was no fun at all. I feel for you. You will get better every day. I know you will. One day you will have a new companion to take on hikes and snowshoeing. Buy the way. This is a cool photo. Your red is perfect against the snow.
