Wow I love the detail you put into this. I can see why you did not finish in time. Perfect flowers and I absolutely love the feathery hair on the bee.

Wonderful piece of digital art. The detail on the bee is excellent. I love the fact you can see the hair on the bee. The flowers are quite pretty and realistic as well.

Hyper initial impact - your color range and subject choice flies directly into ones heart

I love the bumble bee - you managed it excellently to define the very details of her body - as a digital creation it is outstanding in realistic impression - fantastic color choice, the blooms are enhancing the picture and the bee inviting in position and inclination -
a very lovely composition, excellent technical skills , and great distribution of the objects in your frame

your image is well balanced, harmonious and soooooo appealing, thanks for sharing

I love the softness of the flowers along with the detailed fuzziness of the busy bee.

Your artist's notes made me laugh.

I would like to tell you that I find your compositional style very nice and placing the main star of the show to the side like that surrounded by his environment is balanced and pulls us into the art comfortably, telling a good story of the beauty of nature that is all around us.

We can clearly see your light source is behind in the brightness of his surroundings but this little fellow is in shade and as such you have no hot spots on your canvas. I do however, feel it is slightly flat, and could use more tonal values on the flowers which need to sparkle a bit more.

The precision of your drawing is realistic on bee and the detail is wonderful with his 'furry' body showing him hard at work. The leg, or is it his probiscus coming from the mouth detracts for it is too thick and my mind is confused is it a leg ?

Your strokes and applicatiton of paint is consistent throughout without thick layering seen and your technique of softening the paint to give depth of field can be seen.

It is a great piece Cleo. I have enjoyed this and the eye catch is perfect.

    Thank you very much, Olga!!!
I appreciate your throughout review, your kind comments and your critical questions. This is indeed a leg. The bee is basically hugging the flower and supporting her body with this leg. I was astonished seeing this pose myself, but it is true to the references. I will have a look again if I could change something to make the situation more clear without violating the insects anatomy.
Ah, what is so funny on me missing out on most contests? It does not feel funny, but no offence taken I understood well why you laugh.

It's funny because I have done the same thing....missed contests, forgot to vote in them. I actually do not follow contests.

I always try to follow. I always try to vote on all of them, but sometimes there are just to many. :0)

I feel your pain. Many times I have missed a contest because of not finishing a portrait! Anyway, you are a winner in my book. This is gorgeous and the whole painting is so soft and eye appealing!! The colors are wonderful! Love the background and what a gorgeous rendition of a bumble bee at work!
Thank you for sharing,

Well I think it was worth the wait. It's perfectly imperfect, if that makes sense. The yellow you chose for the background looks like lemonade. The Daisies have a effortless whimsey and the be
is perfectly fuzzy. Great close up and comp.
