Bless your heart. I am sure it has been a treasure to you for a very long time. I used to be Catholic. I got saved and consider myself a Christian that happens to worship at a Baptist church. I like the black background. I'm in love with Topaz so good job there as well. Cherish this part of your grandmother always.

I agree. As long as it has Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, and ask Him for salvation for your sins. Your relationship needs to be with God and not your religion. Have a blessed weekend.

nice rich capture. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the rosary is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

What a beautiful Rosary. I recently had the pleasure of placing my mothers favorite Rosary around her hands. I love our Catholic traditions which are so rich in symbolism and reverence. Great picture and good fortune in the contest ~ Steve

I can relate to this item of worship and to your story for the same thing happened to me with my mother's death....she gave her rosary to me and I still have it.
I like the creative presentation of this piece with the purple spirit like swathe of colour (your Topaz filter) but I'm not warming up to the block of brown stone which is larger than the rosary and takes away from the impact of the beads....it steals the show.
The beads could be more in focus, the shallow dof doesn't work a smaller aperture and tripod to make them all in focus would work better.
The format is acceptable and the colour saturation natural and not overdone.

Thank you. It is a salt light. I think you are right about the size. Maybe I can make an adjustment. I will revisit this.

Did a reshoot and removed the salt light and made the background plain black. Better dof and more focus on the beads.

I would have liked to keep the blue swath but I was getting tired. I will probably add it again after the contest.
