I really like the effect you achieved here. While the image resembles a well done painting - the dew drops / rain drops brings us back to reality and supports the photographic process. The background is most supportive of the piece and offers a dynamic contrast with the subject. Well framed. I bet this would be phenomenal on canvas. Kathy

Thank you. Well my sister Donna has these in her garden and I plan to surprise her with this on canvas. I think it will look good and she will love it. She collects everything Iris.

Beautiful & Beautiful! The colors are excellent and the detail looks like you could touch the softness of the flower. Very different and very eye appealing Very nice work

Now that's gorgeous!! The iris itself is such a photogenic flower, and you've made it shine. The composition is lovely and the presentation is very artistic. I love the background which looks is if it came from under a painter's brush. The water droplets on the blue petals add interest. Fantastic details, beautiful colors, great exposure and highlights/shadows balance. Wonderful!! :))

A very eye pleasing scene. I really like the way you used the filters to give this flower an "Old Master" painting feel. Very well done my friend ~ Steve

Another beautiful flower shot, ex client Capote and professional composition, the old wall makes a handsome background as pattern and as color contrast ,

excellent focus contrast and lighting is well adjusted
your picture is clear and sharp and taken from a nice position

Thank you so very much for the lovely review and very generous rating. I have to admit that sepia train is the first time I have won a "big" contest since joining FAR and I am still in shock over it. I have to admit that the members of FAR who took the time to review and offer tips have helped me to create work that is becoming more polished every day. Mary Eileen

This is a beautiful image of an iris. The colors compliment each other very nicely. Nice use of filters - it doesn't appear to be overdone or clumsy. The mood of the photo is beautiful serenity. Great job.

Thank you very much. It has taken a lot of practice with the filters to learn when to stop fiddling so the photo doesn't look "overcooked". Sometimes I still get overzealous but my reviews tell me a lot so I don't make the same mistakes. Mary Eileen

Beautiful art, but, not too much description how it was created. The flower looks like it is floating in the fog near the river. Very creative, and skillful use of colors. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I used several Topaz filters to bring out the details( detail, and Topaz Clarity) and Topaz Texture Effects to create the background. I usually use a combination of Topaz filters to create my photo. Most of the time I only use the sliders in the filters. Rarely do I use the presets alone. Mary Eileen.

This is gorgeous and it almost looks like a fine painting!! Love the purples in the flower and the white fuzzy parts for a better word for it! Ha!
The background is gorgeous also and makes the Iris blend in beautifully! The cropping is great and the over all eye appeal is wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing,
Barb Baker
