Congratulations!
No wonder that this one was a winner. It is a great capture to start out with and mixed media treatment works beautifully. It amplifies the bird but also makes aware of the environment. The shades of green are an exquisite background for the colorful parrot.

I've been admiring that photo for so long, but never had enough time to write a proper review! I think this is an absolutely stunning piece of mixed media photography. The jungle feel is excellent; I'm not sure which part of the background you changed/re-created, but you did it without a trace! The macaw is very healthy looking and the colors of its feathers are stunning. Exposure is spot-on, and so is the highlights/shadows balance. Fantastic lighting, wonderful contrasts, beautiful scene! Great job overall! :)
