OMG - this is outstanding as this sky really created the most mystic ambiance that fits the myth of wolves in perfection

Angle and position are well chosen - I love the shot against this stunning sky. To place this statue better is impossible you got the perfect way to show the family members and their task
amazing color range, excellent contrast and lighting,
I think your picture is clear and sharp and so well composed filling the space harmoniously so one cannot get the eyes off it
great presentation as always thanks for sharing

I really like the cloudy background here. It lends a feeling of realism to the statures, and mournfulness. The orange/red ness of the sky give it an almost sepia look that is very appealing!

Harmonic color combination of: stone base with mosses on it, brown-gray wolves, and clouds with gray-yellow shine in it. The mountain in the background between the right wolf and the cub looks like a pyramid.

a beautiful image but where is it ? The clouds are glorious and are so paintable and the pack of wolves or family in this case are captured beautifully but i am frustrated as to where the location is ?

Is your frustration the reason for half off ? Because I don't see any negative comments about my photo. It is always a reason for not mentioning where the photo was taken. In my case it is because I am the only member here on FAR from this country, and everybody will know straight away it is mine. This is after all a blind contest. Still it is probably not many reading this reply so I take the change to tell you that this is taken in a mountain area in Norway. It takes about 3 hours to drive there from Oslo. The place is called Langedrag, and is a place where you can go and see wolves, lynx, moose, polar foxes, deer and also a lot of domestic animals. Needless to say that children love this place, and you can also stay there over night if you wish.

This is an excellent entry for the contest. The group statue is exquisite work. [Do you know who the sculpture is?]
Your photo does the sculptor's work justice.
Your capture is crisp and you used the natural light well. Your angle shows the natural stones as well
as the fine details on the animals. Accompanied by the beautiful sky in the background the wolfs seem to come alive.
Best luck for the contest!

Thank you so very much for the lovely review Cleo, and of course also for all the stars. I am afraid I don't know who did the sculpture. I never though of asking, and I could not find out by searching on the net either.

It is a matter with many sculpture. Often there is nothing on it or just a plate of who put the staure in place, but the poor artist will be unknown. Even if you ask, you get a "Don't know" as answer more often than not.

What a great capture of these statues. I love the different positions of the wolves. The background sky looks awesome and a perfect backdrop to the statues. Excellent clarity and perfectly cropped with an excellent DOF. Great visual impact. Well done. ~Alveria
