Very good balanced composition. I especially like that you did not use any editing stuff on the flower. It is just fine in the natural state. Sharp, colors, textures. lighting are great. Well done

I've told people in the past that my flowers seem to jump to attention when I'm out there w/ my camera Agreenr.....lol...as if they're all trying to look good enough to get me to take their photo....hence, very seldom need anything but the most basic editing. So thank you for commenting on that and also for checking out my post. I do appreciate it.

I have been wanting to review this for days, but life got in my way. Sick cat ;)

So beautiful Deb. The colors, how the light plays across the image. All superior in my book. Very nicely done.

This is a fabulous photo! I especially like the deep iridescence. Is that pollen?
I wonder if the photo could be improved by eliminating the small shadows? I'm a novice, so I wonder what the nore expert photographers would say.

Yes, that is pollen Phyllis....and actually I looked at the shadows as a plus. You say you're new here, I'm wondering if you understand the rating system. You can go up to 'Community' in the heading, click on 'Q&A' and there's a very good piece on how to review and rate a piece. Also if you go back to this photo- just above the small one on your screen there's a place that says 'Reviews'....if you click on that you can see how others reviewed this post. Hope that helps.

I remain a bit confused about whether this is a true "daylily" - i was taken by what looks like diamond dust and also the shadow made by the anthers. The colors are all brilliant, with that genius purple hint to keep the viewer off guard. Composition is attractive to keep all components of the flower front and center. Beautiful job. thank you for sharing.

lol...yes paulah. THIS is a true 'Daylily'...genus HEMEROCALLIS. The 'diamond dust' is pollen....this flower was at it's peak when I took this photo. Thank you so much for your lovely review. I do appreciate it.

Holy Heart of a Daylily Doc!
Outstanding focus, exposure/white balance and details. I love the soft shadows of the anthers and the ahhhhmazing
Clarity of the glittering pollen.
The color is like a yellow buttercup.
Tight frame, focus, exposure, lighting, details and impressive camera techs and skills are all top notch here.
Fine work Doc!!

Oh boy am I flattered by that review sb!! I was so pleased myself when I saw the shadows....lol...came from me holding a flashlight between my knees in order to keep both hands free for camera adjustments. I so appreciate you checking out my post and especially for the extra star. Thank you so much Sange!

A nice presentation of lily. Love the concept that focuses on the center part of this lily to tell its details and beauty.

The image is clear. Petals' design is noticeable and enjoyable.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

I think this is gorgeous. I love in intricate detail in the petals. You can see the veins so clearly. The lighting and focus is perfect. Did you use a flash or did you set up lighting. I say that because I see a shadow on the petals. Stunning job!

lol...I was holding a flashlight between my knees mamma m....in order to keep both hands free for camera adjustments. The shadows- thrown by stamens- was a plus I didn't notice until I had the photo up on my computer. Thank you so much for checking out my post and especially for the extra star. I do appreciate both.

I use my mouth for holding the flashlight. What we won't do to get good photos.

lol...for sure mamma m. My flashlight is too big to hold between my teeth.
