Mary,
A wonderful picture of the Purple Swamphen standing on one leg the light showing us the gleam on it's glossy plumage in blue & black. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Fantastic bird, his colors are bright, clear and sharp. Magnificent coat he has and what large feet. Beautiful blue chest and awesome red beak. Reflections in clear water are awesome. Centered, detailed and shadowed properly. Fantastic clear photo and great eye viewer.
Thanks for showing.
Congratulations and GOOD LUCK!
Have a splendid week-end!

Cool,Mary!
This Swamp Hen certainly is a pleasingly unusual creature to see! ( At least for a Yank like me! )
Your photo of this particular specimen makes for a very enjoyable picture to view,my friend!

Mary is this bird also called a Pukekuh (excuse the spelling).

All is well with crop and sharpness on the bird. I really like the light source and how it further punches out the main focal point.

Colours are rich and natural and best of all (for me) he is not posing but is busy doing something bird like.

Very clean image.

I am not sure but this might be the same bird that we call a purple gallinule. In any event it is a great shot that shows the huge feet that enable it to walk on lily pads. Beautiful colors and fine cropping.

Thanks Mike, very similar same family, ours has the red beak and orange legs compared to the yellow beak and legs of the purple gallinule. :)

its really funny. when I 1st viewed it I thought the foot was his beak..lol thougt I was viewing some creature from another planet..lol. cool capture. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the foot cleaning bird in the water is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall
