Beautiful classic old building that your photo shows off most excellently. Loved to see what they did to the place inside. Your great sharp photo stimulates my curiosity to see more.

Very intersting photo. many old building in Chicago are converted to condos or apartments. But the old name isn't on the building. I like the over all look of your photo.

Great story telling for this old building. I like the after photo work you did on this. Great job in removing the power lines and blending and giving the scene an almost painted look. Very nicely done ~ Steve

Loll this building really looks like an old fabric from a forgotten time - excellent way you present this building, from a perfect angle and position, your sky really enhances this building in a very nice way -
your picture is clear and sharp and well defined in details , I love the general impression as I love old buildings and you did a great job on this one - well done

Thank you. I did this as a commissioned piece for the Nonprofit Agency who bought and restored this building. They plan to display it in their corporate office

I love the sepia tones with the indigo signage standing out. The meaning behind the building in your family just makes it even more special. Love the photo. Great job.

This is indeed a photo with a good story since so many of your relatives were involved. You have pictured this building so well, and I really like the idea of keeping the old signs on the walls even if this is today turned into flats.

Your photo is of course also nice and sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details in every part of the building. I also think the exposure is perfect.

You have done some great post processing as well, because it is impossible to see from where the power lines and road signs have been removed.

The photo is also nicely cropped and the building is well placed within the frame. This is really a great looking and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Thank you Annie. I am probably my own worst critic. This is a commissioned piece for the nonprofit agency that bought and restored this building. It will be displayed at their corporate office. Be honest now. Do you think this is good enough for didplay in that setting? I am really nervous about it. Mary Eileen.

I am honest, and I think it is more than good enough for the display. It is an excellent shot.

I enjoy the ole style of this photo. I have to ask...Does the outside of the apartments still have the old bakery sign? You would think that "modernizing" would have chosen something like "The Bakery Towers" or something silly like that. I love the warn out brick colours of the building and the pink of the cloud cover in the background. I don't know that I would live that close to a railroad though. Hard to sleep when you are a grave shift worker and trains are going by all day. Well I am pleased that you shared those wonderful memories with us. Good job!

Those were the days!! Buy a soda for a nickle. It is a very nice building, especially for it's age. The sky is a strange color. Was is overcast? I like the point of view from which you took the photo. Good job my friend.
