I think the artwork is a little high key, it looks bleached out in some places or too bright but you do wonders with a pencil that I would never attempt!

This drawing is very dramatic and shows the glamour of the old Hollywood and its beauties. Ava certainly was one of them and you captured her sultry look and casual air - fluffy hair, bathing suit top and the features that made her so famous. The background contrasts nicely with the darks and lights of the figure and the hair is done particularly well. Proportions great, everything looks perfect. Much luck in the contest.

Well Linda I knew you would enter a masterpiece in this one and you did just that!! I cannot even conceive of how you get such porcelain looking skin with the use of just graphite and shading stubs!! This is the winner far and away!! One of your very best so far in my estimation. Although I haven't seen any that have not deserved a 6 rating or above!!! Love it Linda!

Barb, thank you so much. I appreciate you reviewing my work. You are always so kind. Your work is amazing. You use Charcoal, and I can't work with it. I've tried. It's hard. You get wonderful results. You rock.

Linda,

This is a gorgeous drawing you have created of Ava with a graphite pencil. Incredible!

Beautiful details, shadowing and subject.

Perfection and makes for a winning entry.

Ava Gardener. I know the name but don't remember seeing a movie with her. Bogart come to mind. Even if this wasn't a movie star I like this drawing. This looks like a black and white photo.

You have created an excellent realistic portrait artwork of the actress Ava Gardner. At first glance, I thought that this was an actual picture of Ava Gardner. I enjoyed her acting in the movies: Mogambo, Showboat, Seven Days In May, and Earthquake.

You are a very talented artist.
