This is a true macro shot. The detail you have captured is amazing. The narrow depth of field makes the central pistol and stamen group is sharp and faded into the throat of the bloom. Background is well muted with a narrow ISO and works well.

A beautiful shot which is artfully composed. I like the similar flowers softly rendered in the background and the very sharp stamens. The colors could not be better and the view down the throat of this tiny flower is superb. Best of luck in the contest.

Agapanthus, here boy, think I will name my next dog Agapanthus. I marvel at how members on this site know the names of flowers, bugs, weeds etc.
Yes, we do get that tiny flower feel and the background diffused beautifully adds a pop of excitement with those stems. The stamens sharp, the softness happens as we venture deeper into the flower and the rest of this flower's family diffused.
Great entry, thank you for entering this contest. This is a strong entry for it's artistic quality and the colour palette of purple tones is the universally accepted colour of spirit...and this flower soothes our soul.

Lovely photo of a gorgeous little flower! The light is superb and details excellent. You've probably set your camera to a fairly large aperture which makes this photo so dreamy. The background is nicely blurred out while the flower itself is sharp. Great focussing. Lovely temperature and colors, excellent highlights/shadows balance. Best of luck in the contest! :)
