Now I can see the picture, and it was worth the wait!! an amazing shot of this beautiful butterfly "at work" as you say - the clarity and lighting is fantastic, showing the beautiful intricate patterns and the magical sheen of dust on the wings. The DOF is great, creating a brilliant contrast between the dark of the butterfly and the vivid pink of the flowers it is working on. Truly top notch picture centred perfectly - great work.

This is either a Spicebrush or a Female Tiger Swallowtail. I am just not sure. I will go with the Female Tiger. I hope you know Jack and can set me straight. Nonetheless, I really like your capture here. The butterfly is sharp, in focus and nicely contrasted by the flowers. I always like your Nature photos Jack ~ Steve

Great photo really clear focus and light is perfect.
The pink flowers surrounding really the butterfly stand out. They are a really great creature to capture on a camera.

beautiful presentation and awesome colour contrasting with the deep purple hues of the butterfly against the brighter pink hues of the flowers. Structurally sound with the butterfly centrally focused and sharp at that too.

Your Swallowtail could not have picked a better color to land on so you could photograph him. Focus is crisp and sharp. Colors of both flowers and butterfly are excellent and he is well exposed as well.

A beautiful black swallowtail in a great floral setting. They like to lay their eggs on the fennel in my garden but are not an every day sight for me. I like the colors and the nice diagonal placement.
