What an amazing seed pod it looks so different. Excellent composition with sharp focus and good dof. The clarity is great showing the various textures. :) Mary

10 stars , beyond in quality and beauty , exceptional bloom, looking so special in all senses - can't get my eyes off it - your composition is perfect, well framed, excellent angle and close up , hyper clear and sharp into textures, well defined in the most small particles - thesis a flower that has a playful essence, makes smile - fantastic in contrast and lighting, a very beautiful shot, thanks for sharing

I was so impressed with the sharpness of this photograph as well as the textures and colors you were able to show. I learned from the cometary. Very interesting photo.

Hi PegLegDeb,

This is a very unusual and captivating image which deserves one of the sixes I have sadly run out of. Thanks for the detailed info in the notes too! R

So glad you enjoyed the notes Raoul. I research thoroughly before I add something to my gardens. Was out in the beds today and this guy had dropped most of his seeds so glad I got this photo first. Thanks so much for checking out my post. I do appreciate it.

I really can't imagine how this could be improved. I love the way the "starfish" jumps out at you. The overall composition is very pleasing. It's enough to "intoxicate" one. :) Cheers, James.

What a fascinating photo. This must be macro....I definitely need to learn to do that type of photography. I love poppies since grew up with fields of them close by (in Germany).. When I first stopped and literally stared at this photo, the center to me looks like some unique starfish clinging to some sort of underwater ocean rock surround by miniature cucumber type ocean creatures.....only thing missing the bluish type water. The green color background brings me back to reality when it becomes a poppy that had partied far too long and is ready to take a forever nap.

Excellent everything from the POV, DOF, and MACRO shot to the lighting, angle (almost head on) and overall composition. This is perfect in my book. Thanks for sharing. I especially liked your artist/s notes well. They were informative and easy to understand, which is awesome too.

Hello there schatz! Good to see you again...and LOVED your review....the underwater analogies are perfect. The center 'starfish' thing is way cool....very soft and fuzzy and a marvelous color. So pleased you enjoyed the notes as well. I research any flower I'm going to add to my gardens....lol...the scientist in me wants to understand exactly what I'm growing. So thank you so much for checking this one out and writing such a wonderful review. I do appreciate it.

You are more than welcome. Much deserved!!!!
I understand the scientist in you (smile) I found out the hard way once when I ended up with mint growing. It will even grow sideways under the dirt and when you pull it out it looks it has never been buried underneath it at all. It loves to take over and it' a bad thing. argh.

ahahaha...got a kick out of you saying it grew 'sideways under the dirt'....man, that's one tough plant...lol

Holy Opium Poppy Seed Pod with wicked cool fuzzy starfish on top Doc!
Excellent Focus, close-up, details, colors and placement within the frame.
I only have wishes for a
de-saturated background and a tad softer.
But your work is very impressive straight out of camera.
Love this! Glad you had new camera batteries on hand to take this!
Well done!
Did you take the blue lollipop one for me yet? :)

LOL...YOU write the most marvelous reviews LM. LOVE how they always start out "Holy......whatever" Blue lollipop (ECHINOPS, Dearie) is on the agenda for today. Lovely, much cooler day today. Battery died when I was out there the other day.....I was soooo happy to know there was a fully charged battery back at the house just waiting to be used. Thank you so much Sange. And a HUGE thank you for sharing an extra star w/ me. That was a surprise and I am most appreciative.
