What a unique object. I call this exotic. It is beautiful, taken beautifully with good focus and framed well.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

I saw a lot of these, fields of these in Afghanistan. It is a main cash crop for the rural farmers. I like this scene as it is crisp and clear, well balanced and a very effective depth of field. Just a great picture Deb ~ Steve

This is a really neat shot. You can tell it was a beautiful flower, and in death, it still has a certain morbid beauty! Thank you for the tiny report up there. I love it when the artist puts an explanation, or facts--we learn as much as appreciate art. Good luck in the contest-there is no artist information so I guess you are entering something.

Maybe it was somewhere, but I didn't see the information of the artist that is usually on the left side. Have a good weekend :)

That's odd. Thank you anyway for the review.

A very nice image of an amazing plant. The detail in the plant is wonderful. I also really like your choice of aperture to blur out the background.

My only thought is that the background is a bit bright and saturated relative to your main subject. Because it is largely green is clashes with the pink of the plant. It might be worth desaturating the green a bit and then selectively editing a little more brightness into the main subject.

Very nice work again, Deb.

Kind regards, Brian

Those seeds were a bit tough to get enough light into Brian w/o the whole thing being off the brightness scale. Thank you so much for checking it out and offering ideas. I do appreciate it.

Is it still living? Good colors; like the green grassy background; the colors of the flower are nice as well esp the green and purple center; good job on the focus; take care.

It was when I took this photo two days ago swimmer. I imagine if I looked today the seeds would all be gone. Have to be quick to catch it looking like this. Thank you so much for giving it an extra star. I really do appreciate it swimmer.

Flowers are so beautiful, even in the last stages. Even though it is over, the color purple is still so vibrant. Very good focus, as always. I do love your work...even though I can't even think about eating this one...lol. Thank you for sharing.

lol...no, I wouldn't recommend eating this one Paul. I often save these and dry them...after the seeds are gone. They look wonderful in dried flower arrangements. Thank you so much for the lovely review. I really do appreciate it.

Great shot of the poppy. Lighting and focus are great. Wonderful composition with the green backround makes the poppy stand out.

One of the nicest shots of a poppy I have ever seen. Were there about a dozen petals? A beautifully detailed image from a fine perspective.

What a nice thing for you to say mm. Thank you so much. I have to be quick to get them looking like this. W/in a day the seeds have dropped and it's not nearly as attractive then. This particular variety had only six petals but I do have Oriental varieties that have many more. Thanks so much again for checking it out mm.

A rare find! Fine features & textures. Verdant backdrop is visually soothing.
Centered framing.
Bright lighting.
Pin sharp focusing. Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
