What a nice pop of color and cute bird. The lighting is just right without over doing it. The rich foliage is a great contrast. You caught the spark in hi seye and presents his personality very nicely. Great shot.

A beautiful picture of this Red Parakeet with its vivid scarlet plumage with some bright blue feathers on it's wings the light catching the sparkle in it's eye as it watches you closely from it's perch above you. The shiny green foliage of the plant it's perched in contrasting with the red of the Parakeet's feathers. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A great entry for the contest. The red really jumps out as it is contrasted with the deep green of the foliage. Excellent focus and the depth of field is just right for the subject. Nice job of cropping so the bird enters from the upper left corner of the scene. Best of fortune in the contest ~ Steve
