You have my vote. There is so much hair here that I find myself scratching.

Excellent all round photograph with perfect sharpness on that iridescent green fly.

ick.

Great photograph with inclusion of center of flower in the back. Looks like another winner LOL

That's one amazing macro there.

Focus is fantastically sharp and crisp....the hairs on the flower...the hairs on the fly...wow. LOL...I have been swatting these things away all day. At least I think it was flies like this. I have never had such a close look before.

Honestly, this is just amazingly detailed. Colors look good. Nothing over done. I am surprised by your little guy's color....it's rather attractive....and those eyes....lol...like something out of a horror movie. 'Attack of the Green Fly'. Hell, I'd run for sure.

Anyway, he certainly fits the contest....in fact, he's made for it. Best of luck.

Deborah

I too enjoy capturing images of insects... Close up, they are amazing to review and look at. Your image has used sharp focus and nice dof to allow a true appreciation of both the fly and the gigantea. Well done. Kathy

This is just awesome macro photography.. The sharpness and detail is stunning.. They are amazing looking creatures with a beautiful sheen to their body forms and it is frustrating that they are so loathed by us as a result of their habitats and annoyance however due to your presentation of such some of us can see them temporarily in a different light..

A beautiful picture of this loathsome iridescent green Blow Fly in "Fly Heaven" in the centre of the foul smelling Stapelia flower which it will pollenate as it goes to the flowers"Heart" and brush against the pollen laden stamens. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken withsuperb camera techniques & razir sharp focus showing us the fine details of the fly's eyes, wings, & hairy body.
Good luck in the contest.
Susan
