Hi Mary!
I 'haven't a clue' as to what this bird's Species ID might be but that's an interesting picture of 'im!
He certainly does look a big downcast, doesn't he?
A very 'Good Show',my friend!

Very nice capture of a Juvenile Australian Wood Duck Mary.
I love the bowed head pose, fine focus and nice eye clarity.
You handled exposure/ white balance well.
Great captured pose with a non distracting background.
Nicely done Mary!

I am not very familiar with the birds you have there. It appears to be some kind of grebe or perhaps an immature duck. It is certainly beautiful. I like the setting and the fine colors.

This is a lovely shot of the bird! You have framed it well. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!

A nice photo of bird. (Sorry, could not help you about the name). Seems she is looking for something. Focus is good. Light on her body makes her more clear to see. Pose is fun.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Mary I love your title it really marries well with the photograph.
Cold blue and steely gray colour palette is delightful and the image is sharp as a tack.
When you get your photoshop you will have to clone out that stick growing from his chest (a reed in the water).
Nice upload and good eye catchment.
