This is quite confusing. It looks like traditional art and digital art combined to make this very unusual piece. I like how the spider seems to be highlighted around its body. Best of luck in the contest.

This is horrible.

I hate spiders.

Your rendition makes my blood curdle because of the red colour which reminds me that he has eaten something bloody.

Your cropping is excellent the details perfect. You have taken an ordinary spider (which are awful to begin with) and transformed it into something more awful....this is so bad that it is good!

My suggestion would be to take your cloning tool and remove that patch of green that is in the upper right hand corner...easy to do because of the same background. That way our eyes are kept on the "beast" instead of wandering up there and wondering what that fleck of green could possibly be.

Good entry for the contest....
