A strange side. It must have been a surprise to find ancient, but almost undamaged icons in this broken down church. How you arranged the painting to the shutters and how you have it lighted end emphasized by the light seeping in around the shutter is perfect. So is the tall framing. The old icon draws the eyes immediately. It seem surrounded and further emphasized by various frames of old shutters as well as frames of light and shadow. Best Luck for the contest!

nice capture. the angle of the shot of the Madonna by old window with a glow of light coming thru. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

I find this picture subject to be rather strange and yet compelling, it must have been difficult to shoot in those circumstances, with sun light breaking through behind the shutters, I particularly like the detail of the wood grain in the shutters, and the colours work very well, and the icon showing up like that puts an eerie feel to the scene. thanks for sharing.
