This heron was probably frightened of you and your camera, quite intimidating pair I'm sure you both make.

Very well taken image Fred, I like the serious pose, the blue sky, the bushes he's sitting in daring you to come another step closer.

Sharp as a beak...well contrasted.

Another person who is very knowledgeable is Susan FMT....she might tell you why those feathers are aroused!

This is fine capture of the heron.
Your focus were spot on. The detail of the plumage, beak and eye are excellent. The colors are natural looking, but a bit to vivid for my eyes. Balance and framing are fine.
