I am not familiar with hoverflies but it certainly looks like an interesting insect as does the rest of the photo! Like your composition and sharpness of the image. Your use of an open shutter has worked very well here. Nice work!

Wow that hoverfly could not be clearer! He jumps right off the page, colors are brilliant and sharp. My only wish is to see the flower in the clear, and to have no attention taken from the fly, that the other flower in its decline would be removed. Thank you for sharing this miniature delight.
