Every pixel of this photo feels natural and authentic; as if I'm standing at the edge of the pond, a few feet away viewing this beautiful bird. The background is stunning and the water's surface movements are recorded at perfect speed. Colors and lighting, as well, with highlights in all the right places. Congrats!

This is indeed a fine entry for this contest, and the stop action is just perfect. The background is probably a bit busy, but still the bird is standing out well. I think especially the shine and the ripples are well captured in this photo.

Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is really clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and then especially in the wings. I also think the exposure is perfect.

The photo is nicely cropped and I think the bird is well placed within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with a good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Can just see the little fish - such a lovely composition love the wings spread out and the light making the water look golden. Nicely timed capture.

Sometimes the smallest morsels are the tastiest! Your fine central composition does a good job of capturing the action which I presume is a take-off? The image is sharp and has good exposure. Well done and good luck!

ahahaha...LOVE it...both the take-off and your title. Seems there is a contest for everything and your photo makes the ideal entrant for this contest.

Focus is wonderful....love that crisply detailed wing especially. Glad you mentioned he had a fish though as I might not have seen that on my own. Wonderful spray of water behind him as he takes off. Colors...especially the bird are very nice.

Excellent, fun shot. Best of luck w/ it in the contest.

Deborah

I thought he was rather taking off;
or maybe he considers the fish really too small and bring him back; lol;
wonderful close up with sharp details;
