This is a very excellent idea for the contest. I can see the fast train being a blur to the naked eye.
Wonderful photograph and great catch.
Best of luck.

Great entry to motion blur the speeding train immediately gives you a sense of movement against the stationary background. Good composition, focus and other technicals. :) Mary

This is so cool. The accidental shots sometimes are the best. You were not tempted to move with the train thus getting this neat blur shot. Lighting and sharp focus of the surroundings give this a real feel of motion.

The motion blur of the train looks really good and the clearness of the rest of the environment adds even more interest to the scene. Good luck in the contest!

I love the contrasts of this photograph, the movement of the train passing by and the surrounding stillness make for a really eye-catching and engaging image.

Accidental capture? Could walk away as the winner easily.

So many great qualities to your shot. It is balanced and solidly placed into a large rectangular format which allows us freedom to "ride that train" (visually).

It is such a natural well taken photograph. The posts and background are sharp, contrasted and we feel it is evening as some lights in the office windows are still on.

That blur of train is excellent...sometimes blurs can be too much but we see it is a train and ghosts of interior coming through.

Warm hues of colour denotes evening, realistic.

Very well rendered. What was your shutter speed, do you remember? Was this hand held or did you have a tripod?

You will do well....and you do have my vote.

First, thank you for the amazing review. It really was accidental. I do not remember the shutter speed. I believe that at the time I was shooting with slide film. ISO 100. And I may have been using Aperture priority. Maybe f8.. The train was not going as fast as it it appears to be moving. It is a city corridor with cross streets. Restraint must be exercised, even on a Sunday evening. So, thats what my memory and a little research came up with. Thank you again for the amazing review.
