Ha! I didn't think for one moment that it was a farm :0 with those miniatures but definitely a hotel or the home of a wealthy sia (is that the correct word?). So beautifully groomed and immaculately terraced. Colors all glow as in-country. The gold figure is a nice touch point that brings the whole scene together, both an entrance to and an exit from the enchanted place. thank you for sharing. good luck in the contest.

This is magnificent. The scene and the view is out of a storybook. Who can believe there is anything this beautiful in the world. This isn't only a house, it is so much more and very inviting. Great entry. Good wishes.

It sure is. Saw this the other day and just now getting to it. Actually thought it was Olga's at first....the Thailand bit you know.

Anyway....most definitely looks nicer than a common hotel. Stunningly beautiful grounds. There's a lot to look at and you've done a wonderful job showing all the detail. Colors are beautiful and your focus is crisp and sharp throughout.....very nice.

A shame about the pole w/ the gold statue though...it grabs the attention. Beautiful spot...fine photo. Best of luck w/ it in the contest.

Deborah

Not your average hotel. The scene itself is stunning. The POV gives us a wonderful feel for the place. Colors and textures are exotic and very restful. Reflections add depth to the scene.

I see good intention in this capture, but I think the angle the photo was taken is wrong and there are several points of interest which interfere with each other. The post with the golden sculpture is interesting itself, but the details of the sculpture are not crisp enough to make it the point of view. Furthermore, this post and the statue distract from the house behind. This house should be in the center of attention of the viewer since this is a contest about houses.
The visible parts of the house are squashed into the right upper corner. There is a lot of space with interesting objects to the left, but those objects are also distracting from the house. A crop at the left might improve the photo somewhat, but I don't think that any real improvement can be made without using major mixed media.

It's difficult to capture an image that possesses a lot of activity as a photographer runs the risk of making the final product look cluttered and distracting. However, this is one of those rare images where everything compliments each other while being able to stand out on their own. The angling and framing certainly help in accentuating key features, like the gold statue on the pole and the structures in the background - great range that is captured. Thank you for sharing.
