An interesting shot that shows the colossal size of the harvester. I'm not sure about cane but up here they process sugar from beets and you don't want to be downwind of the plant.

Thanks Mike it is a very sweet smell which seems to take over everywhere but not as bad as wine making time in the Barossa Valley 😀

And then they will burn the fields. I was in Brazil once when that was happening. Fun to watch.

I love the depth of this image. The huge harvester is the obvious "star", but the mountains in the background add so much. Well done. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Paul they try to do green harvest these days so they don't need to burn off which is more environmentally friendly but not all areas are suitable so some burnoffstill happens

Lighting and colors perfection - wow. The cloudy day with the sun in a calm look is fantastic. Working hard to keep all of us sweet is the clear message. Thanks for sharing!

HOW VERY VERY STRANGE gues what I'm munching on? Sugar cane...we buy at the market...the vendors peel the bark, cut into chewable sizes and I chew and chew all the sweetness out ...and here you have a photojournalistic image of a harvest of exactly what I'm eating.

Can you buy peeled sugar cane in your neck of the woods.

Mary , it is a nice informative , photojournalist photograph that is clear, well saturated and a pleasure to see.

Thanks Olga that's so coincidental I am pretty sure that you can't get the cane here we didn't get chance to tour the sugar mill but probably would have sampled there. We made sure we had time to tour Bundaberg Rum distillery though 😁

An action image always proves interesting especially one that comes to symbolize a place. Your simple yet engaging image is credited to its framing and angle in how you captured the "sugar rush". Thank you for sharing
