What a great way to see things. I have seen such beauty in the dying process of plants, animals and even those people closest to me. There is something primordial about the birth and death of things and how all phases are equally sacred and beautiful. Wonderful scene Mary ~ Steve

A six because you have the insight of capturing the essence of all life and how its colors/vibrancy gently and inevitably fades from our view.

Wow, Thank you so much Steve. I really find interest in many things. This was in my sister's garden and it really caught my eye because of the stage it was in and the beautiful colors even though it was in decline.

Good job! You know the end of season can be beautiful especially hydrangeas. You've got great detail and color varuatios in the petals and the brown fringes make yolur point abut the off season more clear. Yhsnk you for sharing.

A painterly feel that looks like a very realistic oil painting!
But the pin sharp focusing hints us that this is undeniably a great capture of an almost neglected bloom in its dying stage.
An artistic composition.
Almost monochromatic in colors.
Verdant overtone!
Excellent details & features. Impressive subject & textures. Thanks for sharing...

You have a very artistic eye to notice the beauty in dying hydrangeas. The square format works well here to emphasize the general symmetry of the large blossom. You have captured the lovely pink and green tones of this Big Leaf variety (I think). I hope this bush is yours so you can look forward to spring blooms!
