Thanks Fred, not sure it was captive as it was not banded, think it may have just flown in to visit :)

as the blue heron has great color as your clarity is great and nice catch while leaving.
I like the yellow legs as they are more grey in this area.
a nice reflection as the water has a slight ripple. nice job.

Excellent choice of subject with rippled reflections...
So there's a reason why it's quite tight on top...
Colors are natural with the ash gray plumage against the reddish (is it roseate) stone backdrop.
Sharply focused. Good perspective & long depth of field... Thanks for sharing...
