I appreciate the message behind your painting, which I like as such, I like the way you have the clouds and land, however I was a refugee child, born 45- deported at 1from my home and wandered the world most of my life and I have to tell you that child is too fat.. we were skinny and poorly. I realise that most of the drawing is a metaphor for the state, but my first impression was a farm child, not a refugee child. I have also written 2000 poems on our state, and trains are the most significant part of our lives- on the road. As a painting, colours etc I like, especially the clouds, which I often looked at in different countries and the layers of land.

This is a heart grabber, so much emotion in your art! Perfect colors, details and those birds...just a big Wow for this one. Thank you for bringing attention to an issue most would rather not know of. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Bea

hi Raoul,
another great job as the child looks like it is a hunter trying to find the skill of listening to nature
preparing for hunting in the future as I like the bids as it gives the peaceful theme to it. a very nice painting, as I will look for your story. thank you for sharing.
always,
ron

I admire the attempt to combine the visual and verbal imagery. Today I am having my lifelong friend, Tom Lynch, and a few others over for dinner etc. I have written poems to accompany a couple dozen of my photos and Tom, who has considerable experience in that field has given me both encouragement and some tutelage. This is a beautiful painting with strong symbolism and great colors.

You have created hope for this child on his journey by what I can see as nature guiding with help from birds and childs determination for that far off goal of peace and some sanctuary. Keep going follow your heart on this perilous journey. Keep safe. Beautiful artwork.

    Thanks again!
Comment from Life is but a dream.

Last fall my husband and I crossed paths with the migrants. I stood by the road and cried, they gave me peace signs and smiled. I am a child of refugees.

How strange that I gravitate to the birds which lighten the darkness of your art. The depth of your vision is clearly seen for any who want to see it. Beautifully drawn and the winds of uncertainty can be felt...whether a refugee child or just a child traversing through life...uncertainty is felt...and hope too...chirp.

Thanks Olga. Yes, the birds are his guide. Sorry to read of your experience and hope there will be more comforting news and times soon. Compassion abounds - it just needs to find its roar on this cacophonous stage we throng!
