I agree. Pansies are awesome. I love the looks and feel of them. You did a very dramatic work here with this bouquet and I must say I appreciate the hued colors and the details. Fine work. Lots of luck.

Totally love your name Mama Mia. Kinda of bold and bright but I thank you for your encouraging review. Pansies are just awesome. I chose bright colors because it was different. I had no idea blue watercolor paper would make my colors stand out neon. Gee! The stuff you don't learn in kindergarten. Have a Blessed New Year 2017

this is stunning. I love the softness of it. The colors are beautiful. This would make for a beautiful wall hanging. Good luck in the contest but doubt if you'll need it this is stunning

A review on Christmas. Thank you so very much. Encouraging too. I love bright colors but a few reviewers have called this "disturbing!" Guess many are not use to blue watercolor paper and negative space painting. Just has given me some chuckles. I don't do this to win, I like to enter and see others beautiful creations too. Blessings to you my friend this Christmas.

This painting is Gorgeous. i love pansies. I had some just after the first snowfall in Minnesota re-bloom.I was so surprised to see them popping through the snow .The temperature warmed to 40 degrees and I could not believe they bloomed. Beautiful piece. wonderful colors and a very good job.

Dear MK, thank you for your Flood (hee, hee) of a encouraging review. This creation I did in bright vivid colors on blue water color paper (which is hard to find) is strange. People like it or it disturbs them. Go figure. I went for bright for it was for a Wedding bachelorette party. I just am laughing inside for "disturbing" comments. Gotta laugh sometimes. Thank you for your review and may the Awesome Lord Bless you all with a very Merry Christmas my friend.

I think the camera that you took this photo from made the painting look extremely bright and have almost a neon color to it. From what I can tell though, the painting seems to be very beautiful. I love the different shades of purple that you used. The entire composition is very well done. Thank you for sharing and happy holiday :)

Thank you so very much for your encouraging review. I agree with my photo capture. I believe the watercolor paper being blue reflected and bounced the light instead of absorbing it. May you please have a Blessed New Year 2017.

An interesting initial impact.
Creative concept. Innovative approach. Imaginative presentation. Aptly captured for the contest theme...
An impressive negative technique artwork rendition. Subtle Color creation with excellent strokes & textures.
Good compositional style. Great overall impact! Thanks for sharing... Best of luck in the contest!

Thank you for taking the time for a encouraging review. This was my first negative aspect watercolor. I like bright colors. I did get a chuckle for one reviewer who said my painting was "disturbing". Gee I did not want to disturb anyone. Makes one gotta laugh. Well my friend. Have a Blessed and Happy New Year 2017.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that the negative watercolor technique seems to disturb the impact. It is to fill in background and you do leave negative large uncolored areas in main frame. My next one I will try pastels. May you have a very Happy and Blessed New Year 2017.

Interesting group of flowers, your details are great on the pansies, but I find this washed out,,or too bright,,its hard to look at,,I would enjoy this more if it was darker maybe,,could it be the way the photo was taken of this work?

Thank you for your review. I believe my camera may of bounced off the paper instead of absorbing it. I did use bright colors to achieve a bright feel because it is going on canvas as a print. Blessings my friend and have a very Merry Christmas.

Great work. Your comments about the Pansies is a learning experience for me. Seems that I had heard about eating them somewhere and you have confirmed that. Your work of art is wonderfully done. The water color medium is perfect for this subject. It conveys delicateness yet a certain strength of purpose of the flowers. Just the right amount of subject matter in this lovely scene. Well done ~ Steve

Oh my! You made my heart soar. Thank you for the awesome review. This art I did has made me chuckle. Reviewers like or believe it is disturbing. I guess the blue water color paper which is hard to find along with the negative watercolor technique has some really not liking it. My soul is cracking up. To see that you have liked it has me smiling. I went for bright colors which one can get easily like this. Maybe I should of used the colors of this season, Christmas. Since it is Christmas may you and your family be Blessed with Wonder and Delight as it was that very first Christmas Night.
