Here's another cool picture,Deb!
While Papaver somniferum remains my personal favorite species of Poppy this water-spotted Icelandic type that you're photographed beautifully is certainly an attractive type as well!
( The 'Classic' Red n' Green coloration treatment of the photo looks Great too! : ) )

a very nice shot, Deb.
a very nice color to your Iceland poppy as the water just clings to it with great clarity as I like how some drops seem to defy gravity.
as I like the story you have told and glad you have them around to enjoy. thank you for sharing a rare state. :-)
always,
ron

    awww..you're a good guy Ron to say such nice things about this sad little flower....and you're right...it was so wet that the rain drops just seemed to hang there....defying gravity. Do appreciate you checking him out. Thanks so very much.

    Hi Deborah,
    I'm sure it looked nice after it perked up as I know how fast they can wilt but come back. that is a great catch as they stayed there.
    as I will still plant my mom's favorites
    as i usually fixed the beds till a few years ago.
    have a nice day.
    always,
    ron

What a wonderfully artistic shot in both color and angle to the shot. The detail is fabulous. Great lighting over the frame for the very best creative shot. Well done... thanks for sharing.

Such a beautiful flower! I love the bright pink against the lush green background. The clarity is phenomenal on the flower and water droplets. Very good depth of field provided by the curving stem. Wonderful photo!!

Beautiful close up of the lovely Icelandic Poppy, drooping with the weight of the raindrops and thank you for the informative notes accompanying this. The blurred background foliage makes a perfect frame for this. Excellent lighting and focus showing great crispness and detail in the petals and raindrops. Lovely composition Deborah. Suzanne

    Actually MK it only looked this droopy b/c it was so wet...it's usually a bit perkier than my photo here shows it. Thank you so very much for checking out my droopy flower...lol...Always appreciate you commenting on one of my posts.

unfortunately, Ppapaver somniferum (not rous) don't make only beautiful green pods; lol;
I've never seen your poppy variety when visiting Iceland; it looks very beautiful; and the rain drops are a bonus;

    I just looked and I DID spell that incorrectly sg. How in the world that happened I don't know but thank you....and you're correct about P.somniferum making more than beautiful green pods...lol...but I was trying to keep it on a botanical slant. Also, I find it difficult to imagine any Poppy growing in Iceland but I'm not really familiar w/ their climate. Warm enough for Poppies? Always appreciate you checking out my posts sg. Thanks your the help this time too.

A beautiful contrast of pinkish red flower and green background. Framing is nice. It lets eyes enjoy the bowing down gesture of the flower.

Thanks for sharing.

    What a nice way to put it joel....'bowing down' as opposed to 'sad and droopy' lol Thank you so much for checking out my post and being so generous w/ your review.
