That's a really cool photo, and it looks like a water color painting. Great background rendering, a seamless way of making it push out the subject matter up front. Has a lot of abstract qualities to it, reminds me for some reason of Japanese art.

Great macro scene with an almost cartoon feel to the shot. The sharp focus and the clear background pops the scene so well. Details and tight crop is perfectly captured. The diagonal lines of the green foliage makes the scene feel full of interest and a touch of humor.

I really enjoy the artistic approach to this image. The lighting and the colors work perfectly together. Fantastic framing as well with fabulous artistic detail, like a grand painting.
Wonderful. Thanks for sharing and good luck!

nice one. to me micro photography is like a nightmare. you have done it with care and in a matured way, i like the use of light and the contrast is balanced. I wish it was little more sharp, but over all it's a true beauty.well done

Thank you for you review. I just had pure luck with this shot. I have great distant vision, up close I really need coke bottle lenses. I am blind in my R eye and in July my retina detached from my L. I had 49 Laser blasts to reattach it. I grab my phone, but often forget my glasses. So I snap and shoot and times I am disappointed and other I gleem with joy. This was a Joy Gleemer. I was so very happy to capture this little one's "happy meal".

Interesting shot, but it looks like a paint, not a photo, maybe because it was done on a phone or from the filters you have run on it

good luck with the contest and thanks for sharing

Thank you for your review. Yes it does resemble paint some what. I sure could never paint this well to get the extoskelton and linear orbital markings of the eyes. No filters were run. Only refraction of spring water and the bounce of lens light from the near white rose. I was thrilled I got this little flexible nymph chowing down on a taste aphid.

Wow! what a lovely close-up shot! For a moment I thought this to be a painting. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good luck in the contest!

Great capture of the praying Mantis. He looks almost like a ballerina with his delicate arms and legs and curved body! The subtle background makes a perfect frame. I like how the leaves travel diagonally across the frame, contrasting well with the insect. Very good lighting and focus. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

wow amazing capture. it looks hand painted. really beautiful shot. they are the most amazing animals on this planet. i might have been tempted to have lost some space at the bottom of the frame but does not distract from the shot.
