Not sure what happened but I did comment on this; like the sense of colors w/ the soft white snow, Sunlight and tree shadows; looks pretty deep; I don't know photography technical jargon. Everything looks in focus; if it were here I would say it looks like an armadillo made his way through the woods. Nice scene though.

LOL...that made me laugh swimmer! Nope...no armadillo around here. Just my tracks w/ the snow shoes and a deer criss-crossing them. I doubly appreciate you reviewing this one then as I don't know what happened to the first review. Maybe my winter shots are starting to look all the same?? Thank you so much for your persistence in reviewing it and especially for the extra sparkle you gave it!

I really like the story that goes with this scene Deb. The snow has that bluish tint of color while those dark shadows give a sense of drama to this very peaceful scene. Very well done my friend ~ Steve

Never not without a camera. Deer tracks could lead to deer. The shadows created by the trees add nice contrast and features of the woods. White balance is great. Hints of blue tint against the snow makes the scene pop.

LOL I should have my camera surgically attached to my right eye Gary it spends so much time there. Rarely a day goes by here without me seeing deer but it is not so often that I try photographing the simple tracks they make- which, in their own way are as beautiful as the deer themselves. I know some people complain about the blue in snow but it is ever present in the snow around here. I do my best to not let it over-power my photos but I don't try to eliminate it so I appreciate your comments re: the blue in my photo. Thanks so very much Gary for checking this one out.

They would complain if there were nothing wrong. Knock someone down to build themselves up. Old story.

I love skeleton like shadows from saplings along with those fab bumps and tall trees Good decision as your title suggests of walking trails of deer and yourself. Looks the perfect day for exploring woods.

The snow is deep enough now Dave that all those wonderful little bumps have disappeared.....more tracks than ever though. I do appreciate you checking out my post. Thanks so very much.

ah...you kid sg but it was only a few months ago that I had a Mother Bear and TWO cubs in my wood shed and Mother Bears are notoriously fierce when w/ cubs. But by the time I begin snow-shoeing each season they are all curled up in their winter dens. Thank you so very much for the marvelous review sg. You made me smile early this morning thinking it was 6-worthy. I do appreciate that!

Absolutely love it and had to laugh when I saw it because I pondered about taking a similar picture today! Yet the sniffle's from this darn cold I've got kept me editing images in the warm indoors. Again - I love the dynamic visuals the shadows offer the snow mounds. Nicely focused and well managed light / brightness of the snow. Kathy

LOL....I had stopped Kathy partly to try and get the dog to walk in FRONT of me. She kept walking on the back of my damn snow-shoes putting me face first in the snow w/ no idea it was about to happen...... A drag to be starting the new year off w/ a cold. Hope you're feeling better soon and thanks so much for checking this one out. Nice when someone recognizes exactly what's going on in my photo!

your welcome. been up north helping a friend through a domestic abuse, she lived down here but the guy was very verbally abusive , I have known her about 2 years, really felt bad for her, but after finding out what she was going through and hearing him cutting her down and controlling her, she also has 3 girls and one being a new born, convinced her she needed to head back home, went up to help her through the first court date, it's about 4 1/2 hours from here, really missed FAR but had a great time helping her, was shocked to see I still came in 3rd for this year, thank you for all your support and glad to be back. dale

I ALWAYS knew you were a sweetheart Dale. She is very lucky to have a friend as dedicated as you. Congratulations on ending up so high in the standings...I wasn't surprised to see that. You were posting some really excellent shots the past several months. So very pleased to have you back though. Will have to check out your page. I am still trying to get caught up on my reviewing.

A highly attractive Winter scene here,Deb,and it looks very much as it does out in our own 'Dark Woods' ( just above the 'Secret Ravine' ) over here in northeastern New York!
I don't SnowShoe anymore but I really like this wonderful scene!
OUTSTANDING,my friend! : )

I like this work because it is so classical in its concept and execution and in its atmosphere; The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!
