Six stars not only because cardinals are my favorite but because it reminds me of my grandma (who passed a cpl years ago and was her favorite) but because this is an amazing beautiful photo of such an awesome vibrant bird. Awesome focus and framing ansolutely beautiful job. Love it

I remember that you at one time used to post so many lovely photos of the Red Cardinal, and this one is no exception. Since this is a winter photo contest it is nice to see some snow on the plant, and together with the dark green foliage it offers the perfect background for the red bird.
It is standing out sharp with clear and well defined, and is posing in the most lovely way. I also think the exposure is perfect.
The cropping is perfect, and the bird has got a very fine placement off to the left given room to look into. Indeed a beautiful and well taken bird photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you s much! Yes it is snow, it does that here in Kentucky in the winter. Two years ago my wife and I spent the winter in the Fort Meyers area and enjoyed the 80 deg. weather but oh well this is home and snow is part of it!

It will be chilly here to night dipping into the 40-50 mark. cold for us :)
