Wonderful image - I did of course have to read your explanation ... fabulous antlers. The colors here are artistic and just a wonderful view. Great lighting as well. Beautiful low key. Thanks for sharing and good luck!

A successful effort for a low key composition I say. The most impressive part for me is your control of the saturation of the color red. You have allowed the shapes of the deer antlers to come through. And that is where I think your low key shows the best...around the base of your light.

I also like that you have placed your light to the right of center. Artistic choice there.

If this were mine I may have tried a little dark vignette just to soften up that top of the red lamp a bit. But you may want the top to show as an apparent source of the light. I like it! Good luck in the contest!

Thank you very much for your throughout review and your suggestions.
Unfortunately, neither my camera nor my programs are very sophisticated. They do not allow a dark vignette.
There is no red lamp, Only the candle flame below the light. The glass is is tinted blue. The red color and its shades are created by the colored candle wax which clings to the inside of the vase.

I will post another one, when the flame is lower.
