This looks like "Split Rock Lighthouse" on Lake Superior? I have seen it from the other side, but the roads were not safe to get your view. Wow. What a magnificent structure. I need to go back in the summer. Nice image. Fully framed. Exposure very nice. Good luck (you have my vote already).

Paul, it is so easy to go there. Use the stairs going down. Yes, Summer is the best time. This is probably one of the safest
place I;ve ever visited. Do not use that "not safe" road anymore. Go through the visitor's center and buy your ticket. Thanks for the vote. God bless and have a rested weekend.

We were there in Feb 2014. It was totally frozen and closed. I will go back for some summer images. I really wantbtondo a Lake Superior circle tour and see all lighthouses.

Oh my what a stellar shot. Your exposure is amazing - the lighting is wonderful and the colors vibrant and grandly natural. I might have leveled the lighthouse just a tad but... not that big of a deal. I'm not inside so don't have to worry about sliding off the mountain top. LOL Thanks for sharing. Wonderful image. A nice entry for the contest. Your perspective is spot on. I really like how you have included the steep wall on the right within your frame - it offers nice height and scale to the image. I also find the clouds in the sky to offer additional interest while supporting the feeling of being "In the Clouds". Lighting is perfect - colors are natural and welcoming. Very well done. Kathy
