Wow, this is a show stopper! What a view you have going on here. Amazing wonders caught by your lens. The colors are sharp and clean and the details of the bark and needles are shown too. Show stopper for sure.

I am so sad to read that the Giant Sequoia that cars drove through was toppled by wind... So sad.

This is such an amzing capture. I have clicked on it several times last week...first to study it and then to just enjoy it...to imagine reaching that high into the sky. Kind of makes me think of Jack and the beanstalk.

You have done a magnificent job...first of all for standing with your camera facing upward and not falling over while look up! And second...for the framing. Your leading lines begin in the bottom of your frame and your ending point is not quite centered in the top 1/3 of your frame. I must admit I did pull this out of FAR onto my desktop to see it as a whole. It truly is a framer!

Your colors are HD, highly saturated, but your details are great and add some wonderful texture to this scene. When studying this from lower screen up and took an audible sigh when I reached the beautiful, fresh, blue of the sky. I don't think I have ever seen a photo that emphasized 'way up the sky' like this one does.

A stunning Capture and an outstanding entry for this contest! Thank you for sharing !

First-thanks for setting up this interesting contest.
Second-thanks for your time in reviewing and writing up such a glowing critique. I am now and forever spoiled!! :)

I had to read your review several times to get the full impact, what a great critique, anyone would be proud and appreciative to receive.

These trees are amazing. They have stature, longevity, beauty and stamina. Whenever on the west coast, I try to make an effort to shot them.

    Thanks a ton once again.

You are most welcome. I'm sorry there were so many typos in that message. My typing is secondary when it comes to studying this photo and spewing out my thoughts and emotions. You must frame this for your office...or your son! It is truly nature in an abstract...... ! You are very good at spotting those shots! good luck!

Stunning view. It is almost dizzying. The POV is tremendous and also has great DOF. The feeling is they go up forever. I have seen Muir Woods in the mid 80's and have never forgotten the size of the trees. Walking among the giants gave a feeling of just how small the rest of the world is.

Seeing these majestic trees that are 50 times older than we are is pretty humbling. If one starts to get a big ego, walk among these giants first. :) Thanks for the great review.

Quite a dramatic tree shot posted here! Your angled central composition works very well in terms of attracting and maintaining interest and attention. Well done and good luck!

Wish I had a 6 for you. The story is intriguing and sad to think such a mighty giant that was such a showcase has tumbled. I love your picture, excellent focus and great title and story, the colors are pleasant and the angle is perfect, Great job!
