Great shot of this magnificent Crane showing off his beautiful plumage, which is shown perfectly by this angle. Excellent lighting and focus showing great clarity and detail in his lovely feather markings. The softened background makes a perfect frame. Very nice composition. Suzanne

You just can't go wrong with these African Crowned Cranes. I like the profile view and the simple background. Since you are not showing the whole bird I might look at cropping it off around the top of the leg somewhere.

Cracking shot this one,very clear detail in the bird,good use of dof and you can see the eye clearly,always a bonus,only thing I can see might have been an improvement is to have left a tad more room in front of the beak,but oter than that,good one this...brian

Beautiful bird here! Great clarity shows off the softness and coloring of the feathers very well. I love this against a lush green background.. good centering and lighting. Well done!

Handsome fellow and you are right about the plumage.I shot on of these birds when I was in Disney's Animal Kingdom. Don't remember what they called him. The pose and crop gives us a great close up look. He must have a lot of jealousy from the other less decorated birds. Nice shot.

Nice! Beautiful capture of this
Grey Crowned Crane Mike.
You have great focus, Controlled white balance and nice eye clarity.
A bit more negative space was needed on the right. If you did not have it...Create in photo shop.
;)

a wonderful close up portrait Mike of this East African crowned crane;
perfect lighting with amazing sharp focus;
would have been a six* with more space in front;

Quite a nice bird shot posted here! Unfortunately I need enlightenment as to the type of bird it is? Your central composition gives us a good look at the bird. We have lots of detail to enjoy because of your fine exposure and sharpness. Fine shot!!

Indeed, with a head dress like this one who wouldn't look good! You have captured a nice pose that allows us the viewers to appreciate the body details. I further appreciate the crisp detail in the legs that offer yet another pattern and texture. Your subject stands out very well against the green grasses and the colors are natural. A well taken traditional photo. Kathy
