Whenever someone utilizes Topaz, (before I am even aware of it), I find myself drifting towards it...the photo ...instant attraction I guess. There is just something about an individual utilizing Topaz that makes their photo look extra good. The set up here is excellent. I like what you came up. The entire background color is perfect. And seeing the stems through the glass without having the water as an influence is rather good as well. Everything about this is top notch. A perfect entry for this contest. One of the top three....Thanks for sharing .

A very interesting and creative still live where the weeds certainly are the focus of attention as the glass jar blends into background. Nicely composed, original work and good focus. :) Mary

For some reason the title reminds me of marijuana lol. Cool photo, abstract, showing the simple things in life but in a very elegant fashion. The background is great and soothing. I actually feel like my mood increases after looking at this photo.

This is very very good. I like a lot the way you used the filters. The effect underlines the delicateness of the central subject. Great harmony. Very beautiful result!! I usely think that people tend to abuse of filters in a bad way, but here, the use is justified and quite intelligent and creative. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so very much for the generous rating. I understand what you mean about the filters. I had to learn that less is more with filters. It is easy to go over the top with them. But after using them for awhile you learn how to control the effects so they don't overpower the photo

Weed not weed. If someone told me that a photos of a bunch of weeds could be beautiful. I would say "Show me." Than this would pop up. The lighting is perfect. Details are above and beyond. BR compliments the weeds.

It is so nice to see a simple but effective display in a simple glass jar. You have drawn attention to us that not all vases and containers have to lie redundant until the first sign of spring life out there. So nice a collection with seedheads/pods placed to create this arrangement. Nice focus and plain backdrop giving us some good ideas to give some joy to a shelf or any point of view within our walls.

This is indeed a beautiful photo, and I like everything about it. Especially the simplicity and the high key treatment. I also think you have captured such a fine shine in the glass, and the dried plants are also standing out in an excellent way.

Your photo is of course also nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in the weeds and the glass, and the exposure is just perfect.

The cropping could not have been better, and the glass with the weed is well placed within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is such a pleasure to view. Your whites are pure in it's varied shades and have stayed in the grays to give the yellows and browns of your stems the stage. Nice work there! Your lighting was well done from the get go!

Your framing is complimentary to your capture...putting your stem off the the left and bit and your jar centered. That works well.

Detail is wonderful as well. This appears to be the Fall Clematis seed heads...yes? Love it! Very artistic!

Good luck and thanks for sharing!

Thank you....You are right about the seeds....They were still on the plant and looked so pretty against this plain background I just had to try it.

Cool! It's a somewhat 'Barren' looking scene but it's also a nicely unusual and pleasantly interesting one too!
'Good Show'!
