Such good notes Suzanne...really helps give me a better feel for the place.

The ocean sure does have a powerful look in your painting....I can imagine it just taking over. Wow but you've done up the ocean spectacularly here...going from where's it's light and almost easy looking at the shoreline to dark and ominous further out in the depths....and your white-caps are positively realistic looking. Actually, it's all very realistic looking- from the big, puffy white clouds in the sky down to the wind-swept greenery at the water's edge.

Beautiful work suzanne. You are a talented lady w/ that paint brush.

Deborah

you're very welcome Suzanne. Being land-locked here in Vermont for the last 25 years makes me appreciate ocean pieces.

A lovely, well detailed and painted shot of this part of Spurn Point - I can relate as I went there a lot as a child and it evokes good memories for me - lovely blending of blues in the water and softly reaching the shore despite the effect of choppy waters - a lovely painting and thank you for reminding me of this lovely place.

Nice painting of this beach landscape. It feels like it was dusk when you painted it. You captured the movement of the waves. It is very peaceful scene.

Suzanne, oils are so hard to work with, so raising two hands and clapping hard for this masterpiece. :) /

Love the use of lots of blues here. Ocean and sky together have that effect and you effectively handled it.

Great piece.

Cool,Suzanne!
Your painting of the darkly roiling sea is very impressive and highly enjoyable,my friend!
(And your mention of the Humber estuary, where my Dad was forced to ditch his damaged P-38 Lightning fighter aircraft after being shot up badly during a strafing mission over 'the continent' in late 1944 ) really interests me! : )
'Good Show',my friend! : )

Thanks so much, Sean, for your great review and very interesting to hear about your Dad. Spurn is a lovely place to visit - I used to take my kids quite a lot when they were young but unfortunately it's not so accessible now as the sea has eroded much of the road which we used to travel along - you have to get a special vehicle now that can go through water! Well done , colors of sand very natural and you have captured the movement of the wind very well in this painting. The wave action is very key to showing the turmoil in the sea. Well done! It may be just the quality of the image, but it was a little difficult at first to determine whether the background was mountains in distance or storm clouds moving in.

Nice one Susanne. For me this has everything but then I have a soft touch for any work which includes the sea. I sailed those waters many times during my time in the Merchant Navy. You have captured great movement in this work. Lighting is excellent as are your colours - well done, a joy to look at - Ronnie

You really do such a nice job at blending colors and creating textures. The water and the waves look so nice and very real. The sand has lovely color and I admire how nice the clouds are made.

Gorgeous painting of the sea and the beach. Great mixing of color, great use of values too. You did an excellent job at making the water far away darker, and the water up close lighter.
